two order of business today: to win the last game against wigan and to send an emotional farewell to the home of the Arsenal FC for the last 93 years.Highbury...
this is it my fellow Gooners: The Final Game. the countdown clock reads 11 hrs 00 mins 43 sec at last glimpse. i guess today's post will be my own personal tribute to it. i may not have been with it for a huge part of its history but i've enough of those beautiful memories to fill up half of my book if i were to write one... here are some of my best memories.
best goal: nov 2002. Henry's outrageous solo run from deep in Arsenal's half, beating 5 or 6 spuds and scoring against the current england keeper. for his celebration? he ran the other length of the pitch. happiness all around in Highbury. except maybe in the away section...
best Highbury moment: last game of 97/98 season. against everton, captain Tony Adams raced onto a through ball by Steve Bould and scored the last goal of the 4-0 game. his celebration? he raised his arms and just basked in the sunlight amidst the Highbury cheers and that was just before he held aloft the EPL trophy. how apt for the captain to score on that day...
i've got too many sweet moments to list them all here. i must confess though: i've never watched a live game in Highbury but mrs blog and i were priviledged to have gone to the holy ground. here's some of our personal pics:

i'm sure it will be a very emotional night for all Gooners around the world. regardless of tonight's result, i'm sure it will be a night to remember in Arsenal's history book.i'm now preparing for the Singapore Gooners' end of season BBQ party at Hassan's now. once we've had enough 'spirits' in us, we'll head down to elizabeth's for the live game. it'll be a good day today...
come on you Gunners & Hammers!!!

5 farts:

Congratulations, Arsenal 4 Wigan 2, Hammers 2 PAP, I mean, All-whites 1. Goners through to qualifiers, my predictions didn't come through :(
Waiting for your next post bro. Didn't watch the match, do comment on some of the highlights of both matches.

"Yeah Man U through!"
Yeah..., even Bimbo predicted correctly that Arsenal and Wigan would draw at half-time, and hammered them at full time (HT-FT) which paid a handsome 1:4.30. So did Young Lions with their 3:2 win over Tampines. It's been a lucrative day!
wah, you guys are faster than me man. i don't even need to put up the results anymore. haha... daddy blog, pls don't teach bimbo how to gamble. and since it was lucrative, you better get bimbo a treat...
Oh yah, must add, it takes kelong FA officials and an Arse-nal hotel to hit the Spurs. Wah lau what is this man!
*heh heh*
