小妹:"Huh, I dunno anything about football!"
Mentor SgGooner: "It's okie, u can say I only know how to spell 'A-R-S-E-N-A-L'."
小妹: "Like that how to write an entry?"
Mentor Sggooner: "Then why don't you write something on your Arsenal-mad ex-colleague?" *wink*
Ha… So here I am…
First came across the name 'Arsenal' when I was back in Secondary 3 (that was so long ago...) There was this Malay guy who sat right behind me and kept going on and on about how great this Arsenal is. Back then, the more popular football team was Manchester United and majority of the gals adored them coz of David Beckham mah. So that Malay chap was the only Arsenal supporter versus many Manchester United & Liverpool fans. Besides knowing how to spell Arsenal, that’s the only knowledge that I have about Arsenal...
Okay, from an outsider's point of view on Mentor SgGooner and his passion for Arsenal. Ya, I use the word "passion". It's written on his face and reflected in his behaviour.
Once upon a time, Mentor SgGooner declared that he’s gonna start a blog on Arsenal and he was confident that he'd update this blog everyday. Ya, a number of people did doubt him coz it's not too easy to write something every night about the same topic. Sometime it's just quite hard to squeeze out a single word. Somehow, he has managed to and till now I still wonder why does he have so much to write about on the Arsenal. Subsequently, he announced that he's gonna set up this official Arsenal fan club with some other Arsenal enthusiasts.
He loves Arsenal so much that he flew all the way to the other side of the world to watch a single match. It's not something that I would do though. Why doesn't he watch it over the sports channel or get updates from the news or websites? From our profession's point of view, he needs to attend more 'Talking Dollar and Sense' workshop worz.
He's one who loves the Arsenal so much that he would sacrifice his sleep to wake up in the middle of the night to listen to live telecast of Arsenal match. It's a bit strange that one would wake up to listen to live telecast. How exciting could that be? Got to ask Mentor SgGooner and his Arsenal kakis out there. I guess it's not something that a non-Arsenal fan can understand :)
When he was still with our organisation, colleagues would sound each other out if Arsenal had won in the previous night’s game. If they didn't, early morning would be a bad timing to get nasty case discussions done. Hohoho… That's not a benchmark la but it just tells how Arsenal has become part of his life. And now I can understand why Mrs Blog wants more guest bloggers.
Till now, I can only understand that 10% section of his blog. Ha…
So do support the upcoming project and help the underprivileged children, eh! :)
